Why detox?

Happy New Year everyone! If you're like me, you welcomed in the New Year with, ahem, more than one alcoholic beverage, and then helped yourself get back to "normal" the next day with some good ol' caffeine. ;) And on an average day your diet includes more than you'd like to admit of refined sugars, processed foods, and saturated fat. These days there is a lot of buzz about detoxing - detox spas are extremely popular in Europe and becoming more and more so in the U.S. For those of us who can't afford a spa vacation, Arbonne has formulated a line of products that assist the body in its natural detoxification processes by supporting key organs, blood function and the elimination of toxins.

As we follow through on our decisions to kick off a new decade with better health habits, a great way to help your body get a jump-start is to try a gentle detox supplement, like Arbonne's SeaSource Detox Spa® 7 Day Body Cleanse Dietary Supplement. This supplement is a proprietary blend of herbs and botanicals and, like all of Arbonne's products, is certified-Vegan and completely safe to use. People have had great success with this system to support weight-loss, strengthen their immune system, and even to manage chronic pain.

Tis the season! An easy Christmas shopping guide

Some people are hard to shop for and, let's face it, some of us don't love shopping (especially during the crazy holiday season). SO, whether you do or don't like to shop, I've come up with an unofficial guide to getting gifts everyone on your list is sure to appreciate.

Moms and Grandmothers:
Women, especially those 40 and over, really love the NutriminC RE9 anti-aging line. These products really do reverse the signs of aging and are becoming hugely popular. Check out what Vogue UK has to say about it: http://www.vogue.co.uk/blogs/the-vogue-beauty-blog/articles/091020-arbonne-nutrimin-c.aspx.

The Virtual Illusion makeup primer. Okay so one more step may seem a bit much at first, but once she tries this she will never go back. Makeup primers are the next big thing in cosmetics, and almost all the big name department store cosmetic lines have them now. Arbonne's has been rated as one of the best, plus the ingredients, as you know, are safe and good for her skin. And it feels like velvet!

Black Orchid Cassis or Star Jasmine Tuberose fragrances. Most women like both scents, but to give you some guidance, Star Jasmine Tuberose is more of a happy "day" fragrance and Black Orchid Cassis is more of a sultry "night" fragrance.

Fathers and Grandfathers
:

NutrimenC RE9 products have a subtle orangey, spicy sent, are simple to use, and are great for masculine skin. I guarantee he'll love the exfoliating scrub and the toner.

Seasource Detox Spa products. These products are gender neutral and are great for those who are concerned about their health. The soak and the foaming sea salt scrub are my favs.

Brothers, Sons, Boyfriends and Husbands
:

NutrimenC RE9 (see above). My 23 year old brother loves this stuff - ask him. ;)

Sky for Men. Part of the holiday line, this has a great, masculine scent to it that women love. My only disclaimer is that it is one of the very few items Arbonne makes that has artificial fragrance in it. If that doesn't phase you, then I promise you'll love it.

Sisters, Daughters, Girlfriends and Wives:

If she is worried about wrinkles, existing or potential, then there is nothing better than the NutriminC RE9 (see above). I know women in their 20's who use it; you can never start too early!

For women who aren't quite ready for anti-aging, the FC5 for face is amazing. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash are to die for too (LOVE these).

Shea Butter Hand Care
. This stuff smells soooooooo gooooooood and feels amazing on your skin. Truly a gift to pamper her with.

The Virtual Illusion makeup primer (see above). Did I mention it feels like velvet?

Aromatherapy! Unwind and Awaken are the two favorite scents. I recommend the Awaken sea salt scrub and the Unwind bath salts - I don't know a single woman who doesn't love these!

Teenagers/Young adults:

F.Y.I. Product line. I'm 31 and I love the lip gloss! Definitely a great gift for any teenager or young adult on your list.

New Moms:

Arbonne's ABC baby care line is becoming famous. It is hands down the best thing for extremely sensitive skin out there.

A legitimate business?

Hi all. One thing I've been coming up against since I began considering starting a "network marketing" business is the question ... is this REALLY a legitimate business? Just to be clear, this question came from within me too. I still sometimes struggle with my own negative perception of it. Part of the problem is that I've known a number people who have started network marketing businesses with great enthusiasm, only to fizzle out within a couple of months. I'm sure there are quite a few loving, well-intentioned people out there who think that will happen with me. It's okay, I still love you if you're one of them. ;)
Here's what I've gathered as I've learned more about the business, both from my research and from actually doing it. This is not for everyone. And even if it is for you, it may not be for you right now. If this opportunity had come along for me at a different point in my life, I may not have done it, and I probably wouldn't be as successful as I'm going to be if I did.

The thing that intrigues and puzzles me the most is that in some ways, network marketing (with a solid company of course - this is important) is kind of a "Well, duh, why wouldn't you want to do it?" business. At least for me and for those who are willing to think outside the box, take risks, and who value flexibility of finances and time more than their comfort zone, it is. The start up costs are affordable even for someone with practically no budget. You earn and reinvest in your business as you go. Someone else takes care of many of the technicalities and legalities of running a small business for you. The training is free and phenomenal (again, with a good company). And, if you're willing to simply duplicate what others have done and constantly work on improving yourself, the earning potential is practically unlimited.

So, why doesn't everyone do this? Why are people so suspicious? It may be that the business just doesn't suit their personality. Maybe it's because they value stability and the idea of a traditional profession more than flexibility and financial freedom (which involve risk to acquire). And then there are the widespread misconceptions about the potential for success in network marketing or direct sales. Because many are attracted to the promise of easy money, and, last time I checked, the concept of "easy" doesn't involve hard work, they fail. And those who know there is no such thing as "easy money" shy away from the business because they think that is what proponents of network marketing are offering.
Here's the thing. This business is not easy. So if you're looking for easy money, you should look elsewhere. But if you're looking to work hard, help others and make a lot of money fairly quickly as a result, this may be the only vehicle left to do this in our current market (unless you have a million dollars to invest, that is).
So enough from me. I'd like to conclude with a couple of insights from those whose opinions on business practices we Americans tend to respect, that is, those who have made a lot of money. Since I don't fall into this category (yet), I'll stop talking now. ;)

Bob Proctor, author of You Were Born Rich:

"The beautiful thing about network marketing is that it is the most moral form of compensation there is. And it follows the very best income-earning strategy: you're leveraging yourself and you're providing great service. You're waking people up. You're showing people how to spend their days doing what they love to do, while at the same time earning an excellent income. Properly executed, network marketing gives people time and money freedom. It gives them liberty, which is their birthright."

Robert Kiyosaki, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Rich Dad, Poor Dad

"I am often asked if network marketing is a pyramid scheme. My reply is that corporations are really pyramid schemes. A corporation has only one person at the top, generally the CEO, and everyone else below. A true network marketing business is the exact opposite of a traditional business model. The network marketing business is designed to bring you to the top not keep you at the bottom. A true network marketing business does not succeed unless it brings people to the top." (This is from an excerpt of a book he wrote with Donald Trump called We Want You to Be Rich).

T. Hary Eker, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Secrets of the Millionaire Mind
"The unusual and wonderful thing about network marketing is that everyone around you is working to help you grow, instead of trying to keep you down! In what other business do you have people making $50,000 and more a month - and they're willing to tell you exactly how they did it?

And finally, drum roll please, my personal favorite:

Frank Macguire, former senior executive for FedEx, KFC, ABC, and American Airlines

"I believe America's economic future, the health of its commerce and service, is rooted in effective network marketing. People are sick and tired of the deprivation of human dignity they experience at the hands of so many of today's corporations, which in the past ten years have scooped up all the quid for the guys on top, leaving behind some very talented people without a future. Network marketing is turning off the spotlight on working for a corporation, and turning on the floodlight of the greatness that we all have within us. I love what you're doing in network marketing, because you're creating an opportunity to affect the self-esteem of many, many people. You're giving people hope and providing a launching pad for them to discover their own greatness. I think network marketing is potentially the greatest economic opportunity that has ever existed."

New beginnings ...

This weekend my mom hosted her first business launch party. After she had spent weeks in preparation and training, I was able to drive down to Holden Beach, NC to help her officially launch her business! It was truly a memorable weekend. I am so proud of her and am so lucky to have her as my first business partner! Five ladies, including immediate friends, family members of friends, and my beautiful sister Katie were in attendance. It was a great success!

After sharing with everyone about Arbonne's amazing products and business opportunity, as well as sharing why each of us are doing this business, I presented my mom with a framed version of her initial business announcement and a card with delicate paper cut-outs of butterflies - a very profound symbol for her. I should've known that would make her cry! We ended our celebration with a champagne toast to her success. I mean, what business is properly launched without champagne? ;) Her friends were so impressed by the products that they became clients on the spot. In addition, two of them signed up to host parties to help her get her business started! That was incredibly helpful, because succeeding with Arbonne is all about having fun and meeting people you don't know.

As I told my mom in our toast to her, plenty of ordinary people have made it to the top of this business through hard work and perseverance. But my mom is no ordinary woman; she is truly extraordinary! I have no doubt that she will be unbelievably successful, and am so grateful to be able to be a part of her success! Here's to you, Mom.

A personal development company disguised as an anti-aging company?

Arbonne International's president, Rita Davenport, is well-know for characterizing Arbonne as a "personal development company disguised as an anti-aging company." When I first heard this statement it didn't really resonate with me. But as I became more familiar with all of the resources Arbonne provides for its consultants - from the awesome training courses offered through Arbonne University, to the inspiring Eye on Arbonne success stories, to the weekly "Learn and Burn" motivational series - I began to realize how true her characterization is. This business is not just about financial freedom or even freedom of lifestyle. It's about personal growth. And the more quickly and authentically I grow, the more my business grows with me.

At face value, this may come off as a little self-centered, even if not in a bad way. The thing is that the way I grow (and the only way personal growth is authentic if you ask me) is by becoming focused on others. Sharing safe, effective and fun-to-use products with others. Making sure others have a great time. Listening to others' needs and dreams. Helping others to be successful. And most importantly, helping others to grow personally. Not to sound cheesy, but I think I've found a niche that allows me to become who I truly am as a person precisely by helping other people to do the same. I love Arbonne! Okay, now I sound cheesy. ;)

Movin on up ... ;)

So, September was my first full month as an Arbonne Independent Consultant. Despite being sick for the majority of it, I was able to qualify for the next step in my Arbonne business: District Manager! This is also thanks to temporarily reduced qualifications - ask me about this. Now I need to keep up the activity to complete my qualification. Reaching District Manager is the first step to dramatically increasing my income, and I'm so excited that I'm almost there! Thanks so much to all my family and friends who helped me qualify and for your continued support!

My first new business partner ... my Mom!

Hello again! My business launch party last night was a success! The "Pom-tinis" were delicious and the guests were fantastic. Thanks to all my friends and family who came out to support me in this new venture, especially those who traveled to get there - some from as far as North Carolina!

I'm also thrilled to announce my new business partner - my mom, Roxanne Shircliff. She is very experienced in sales and marketing, absolutely LOVES Arbonne products, and has been looking for an income opportunity that will allow her flexibility to enjoy her home at the beach, go to Church, and spend time with friends, while at the same time providing her with the income to live comfortably. I believe she has found this opportunity, and couldn't think of someone better to have on my team. So thanks Mom, and I wish you nothing but success and happiness in your new adventure!
